The housing stock suits solar unusually well. The post-war estates around Wygate Park, Pinchbeck Road and out towards Surfleet have simple, largely unshaded roofs with plenty of uninterrupted south and south-west pitches, which is the easiest kind of roof to design a system for. Flat Fenland surroundings mean very little overshadowing from trees or taller buildings.
